A key reason for the growth is a rise in the volume of water freight, which recorded a CAGR of 14.9%, from 355.0 million tons in 2012 to 712.4 million tons in 2017 and is anticipated to register a CAGR of 18.5%, from 822.7 million tons in 2018 to 1,620.1 million tons in 2022, due to the anticipated rise in total exports over the forecast period.
