The industry's growth over the forecast period (2017-2021) is expected to be marginally slower than in the prior five years, and will be driven by public and private sector investments in infrastructure, residential and energy projects, and improvement in consumer and investor confidence. According to Timetric, residential construction will remain the largest sector, forecast to account for 43.1% of the industry's total value in 2021. The predicted CAGR of 4.56% over the forecast period is expected to be driven by negative interest rates and an increase in new building permits coupled with urbanization and population growth.
