Ken Research offers a flexible work pattern to offer effective and customized solutions to various clients based on their diverse needs, whether continuous or driven by ad-hoc research projects. We understand that the requirements of each client are unique and vary over time, driven by business dynamics, changes triggered by specific events and changes in the external market environment, etc. We build an engagement model that matches the needs of our customers with a promise of delivering high quality products. The company ensures that our customers can focus more on their core business, improve customer relations and expand their customer base. This tends to generate a high return on investment to our clients and gives them an overall level of satisfaction. Another advantage of our participation models is that customers have greater control and convenience to quickly increase or decrease their team size using our services in proportion to their business need.

FULL TIME/RETAINER MODEL

Ken Research serves as an extended research team for the client, providing services across the spectrum, right from topics such as data management to extensive topics such as financial and investment research services. We offer complete flexibility to the client to engage our resources exclusively for their projects. This model is ideally suitable for clients in the business of financial services and consulting that have a steady flow of research work, that they could outsource and to corporate clients that have requirements for a ready team to handle their investor relations services without adding fixed costs, as well as support their fund raising program. For example,

Brokerages, Investment banks have an on-going requirement for daily news analysis, company research (initiation and maintenance), thematic research, market intelligence, investment banking support, etc. Private equity firms and asset managers need on-going support for thematic research, idea generation, screening, monitoring, updates, etc. Consulting firms and Corporate have a mix of on-going and on-demand work related to investor relation services and pitch deck preparation.

A dedicated model of engagement ensures that the clients get continuous support from our team. In this model the turnaround time is faster and the client benefits by having the same set of analysts working on their requirements. The clients are assured that they are receiving timely services at the highest quality. This is a faster and a more efficient way to scale up and have total control over the team without undertaking heavy upfront investment.

ON-DEMAND CAPACITY ADDITION MODEL

Ken Research offers a greater amount of flexibility to our clients by allowing them to ramp up the size of their outsourced team depending upon their flow of projects, work pressure, deadlines which won’t disturb the fixed cost component of their total operating expenses. This model is usually preferred by clients that have an unpredictable workflow and require on-demand support on a recurring basis.

For example: Brokerages look for quick turnaround and quality support especially during busy earnings season and also require capacity addition on time-sensitive projects. Investment bankers and private equity partners require time-sensitive research support while working on important deals.

Typically, the overall work volume is recurring in nature but does not justify having a full-time dedicated resource on that particular work.

PROJECT-BASED MODEL

Ken Research also offers custom capacity allocation based on clients’ specific requirements. This model is most suited for clients that have one-time requirement for research or business services support as well as for those who cannot forecast work requirements in the immediate term but are sure of specific needs that require analyst support. Such one-off projects conducted for the client generally spans from a few days to a couple of months.

For example Investment bankers may require one-time business support to evaluate the merits of a large potential acquisition deal or to assist broker-dealers’ in-house research team in developing and designing company/sector reports templates.

The Project-based Model is typically a Fixed Price Arrangement. A well defined scope of the project is prepared, shared and agreed upon. Ken Research works with the client to define delivery and milestones and monitoring methods. Project deliverables, timelines and resource utilization are pre-defined. Hence this is considered to be a low-risk model for both the client and Ken Research.

However, where the input time required cannot be reasonably estimated at the outset, we work on a Time and Material basis.

Upon completion of the project, all deliverables, documentation and ownership are transferred to the client. On-going maintenance can be taken up by Ken Research (transition to a retainer model) or handed over to the Client’s in-house team.

CUSTOMIZED ENGAGEMENTS

Under the customized engagement model, we combine the elements of our other engagement models to optimize costs and maximize efficiency. For example, an engagement may start on a FTE basis while the requirements and scope of the engagement are being defined and may then become a project based model. This model allows for scalability and has enormous operational benefits. This model is well suited for clients that do not prefer a particular type of engagement model.

Ken Research bears all risks for project delivery and assumes complete leadership and control of the project on behalf of the clients.
