The report titled "Asia Pacific Biofuel Market Outlook to 2016 - Growing Importance of Second Generation Biofuel" provides a comprehensive analysis of market size of global and Asia pacific animal health care industry, market segmentation of Asia Pacific biofuel industry by geography, fuel ethanol and bio diesel. The report also provides value chain of fuel ethanol and bio diesel production and profile of major players operating in the animal health care industry.
Asia-Pacific
The in Asia-Pacific region has grown remarkably over the past few years due to the growth in the emerging markets such as China, India, Thailand, Australia, South Korea and Indonesia. The scientists in the Asia-Pacific region have supported the growth in the production of biofuel with an understanding of their potential benefits, impact and risk in order to meet the growing demand. The market in the Asia-Pacific has grown at a CAGR of 32.1% from USD 1,351.1 million in 2006 to USD 5,429.7 million in 2011.
China
China biofuel industry has evolved remarkably in the recent few years and established themselves as a leading producer of biofuel in Asia-Pacific. In 2011, the country has witnessed a growth of 27.2% with revenue of USD 2,549.4 million in 2011 in comparison to 2,003.6 million in 2010. The growth has been influenced by a rise in the sales of automobile which has led to increase in the demand of transportation fuel in the country. In 2010, diesel consumption reached to 166,240 million liters while gasoline consumption was approximately 87,245 million liters in the country.
Thailand
Thailand is one of the developing countries in which has the strongest fuel ethanol growth rates. In 2011, the number of production in Thailand has increased to 20.3 thousand barrels per day in comparison to 18.5 thousand barrels per day in 2010. The rising demand of biofuel in the domestic as well as in foreign market has led the government to incline the number of fuel ethanol plants to 21 with a total production capacity of 695 million liters in first half of 2012 in comparison to 19 plants with production capacity of 520 million liters per day in 2011.
Australia
The biofuel industry in Australia is quite small in comparison to the US, China, Brazil and France. Australian biofuel industry has witnessed a remarkable growth of 51.9% to USD 1,072.4 million in 2011 as compared to USD 706.0 million in 2010. The growth has been influenced by an increase in the grain price due to strong export demand despite a sharp incline in domestic production.
According to the Australian government report, the country biofuel industry production met approximately 0.4% of the transportation fuel demand in 2010 and the country is continuously increasing biofuel contribution in Australian transport fuel mix in order to reduce its dependency on the other countries.
India
India is an energy deficit nation which has one of the lowest levels of per capita consumption of energy. The country's energy demand is expected to grow at a rate of approximately 4.8% in next 10 years. Most of the energy requirement in the country is currently satisfied by fossil fuels such as coal, petroleum-based products and natural gas. The domestic production of the crude oil in the country can only fulfill 25-28% of the nation consumption. The rising crude oil prices due to decline in reserves in the global market have encouraged the country to divert their attention to renewable energy sources.
The biofuel production has witnessed an increase from 3.9 thousand barrels per day in 2005 to 8.5 thousand barrels per day in 2011 due to an incline in the blending mandate rate target in the country. The biofuel blending rate has been surged on account of rising crude oil prices in international market.
