OBJECTIVE
A regional agribusiness needed to understand how smallholders , tenant farmers , and commercial growers selected among mandis , local aggregators, and organised buyers, focusing on switching triggers, channel confidence, and crop-specific selling behaviour.
WHAT WE DID
We conducted a structured survey with 720 farmers across three crop belts, using quotas by farm size and sales channel. The instrument captured buyer consideration , price confidence , payment expectations, travel burden, and recent switching incidents.
DELIVERED
The study produced a channel preference map , switching trigger hierarchy , farmer cohort profiles, and market-level positioning territories . It also identified channel levers for different crops without attributing commercial results to any intervention.
