Danish Full-Service Restaurants to Proliferate in Future: Ken Research

In the past two years, a growth in terms of current value of full service restaurant was anyhow recorded, despite of not eating out tradition in Denmark. Full service restaurants are independent and chained outlets. The increasing trend of these restaurants in North America had led to growth of chain restaurants with the largest category. In Copenhagen and medium sized cities like in Denmark, the diversity in terms of type of restaurants has been increasing.

Mainly; organic food, gluten and lactose free products are demanded by consumers in Denmark and thereby it is becoming the main focus of restaurants. Food services in restaurants have also been positively affected due to an increase in number of outlets in the country. Also in 2016, a higher growth has been registered in full service restaurants due to the same reason- increase in number of outlets.

Growing expenditures by Danish as well as foreign consumers on full service restaurants due to increasing trends have been made. Recently, Denmark has been able to attract tourists’ attentions. There is also a rise in the home delivery sales for mid and high-end full service restaurants in North America and independent European outlets.

Also, an increase in the demand for premium products by Danes will be observed. Till 2018, there will be a tremendous increase in the demand for full service restaurants. Agre Damgaard ApS, Bone's Restaurants, Bowl 'n' fun, Hard Rock Cafe, Jensen's Bofhus and SSP Denmark are some companies of full service restaurants which are developing with better quality and services.

In the future years, it is expected that the growth of full service restaurants in Denmark will slow down. The main focus now is high quality, organic food, gluten and lactose-free food and freshness but the category is expected to mature soon. Due to increase in health trends and more attention from media channels like social media, the trending elements will undoubtedly gain popularity. These promotion tools will help Danes to change their attitude towards full service restaurants. Danish consumers are also foreseen to demand low calorie products with more natural ingredients and free from any additives. Cumulatively, the market will register massive revenues and expand rapidly with increasing knowledge amongst the Danish population in the coming years.
