The vegetable seed segment is one of the potential segments in the seed industry in India. The market has garnered a lot of attention in the recent years due to increasing imports of vegetable seeds from countries such as Taiwan, Japan, the US and France. In the recent years, China has emerged as the novel vegetable seed exporter to India. Annapurna Seeds, a West Bengal based company, has recently begun field trials of cabbage and cauliflower seeds imported from China.
